Now a days the above title doesn't quite sound so strange. But what does it mean, what's the point?
In todays increasingly science and technology drive world we can no longer allow the science fiction stereotype of the mad scientist to persist as the publics default vision of a science professional. Science is now at the root of many of today’s most vigorous political and social debates and the public’s ability to fully understand the issues surrounding these debates is key to the continuing health of our democracy.
Therefore we need to educate both the public and also the science professionals who need to be able to communicate their subject effectively to the masses as well as each other.
Having completed my M.Sc. in Communicating Science and spent nearly two years in and around the Techniquest science centre, I have quite an interest in the field.
